The situation in this country
Austria missed the 2 August 2025 deadline (Art. 70): no market surveillance authority and no notifying authority have been designated, as regulator RTR's own AI Service Desk confirms. No national implementing act has been published, and no government draft or consultation is known. The AI Service Desk at RTR acts as an information and advisory hub without sanctioning powers. In late July 2026 parliamentary criticism noted that, as a result, the Article 50 transparency rules have no designated enforcer. No AI Act fines or investigations are known in Austria.
