The situation in this country
Croatia lags behind in this cluster. No market surveillance authority or notifying authority has been designated and there is no adopted implementing act. The Ministry of Justice, Public Administration and Digital Transformation did publish the list of fundamental rights authorities under Article 77 in December 2024 and has set up a working group of over forty members drafting the Act implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, with a public consultation on the legislative plan on the e-Savjetovanja portal. The draft had not reached parliament by mid-2026.

Croatia publishes fundamental rights authorities under Article 77
The Ministry of Justice, Public Administration and Digital Transformation published the list of competent authorities under Article 77(2): the Ombudsperson, the Children's Ombudsperson, the Gender Equality Ombudsperson, the Disability Ombudsperson, the data protection agency AZOP, the State Electoral Commission and the Electronic Media Agency. This concerns fundamental rights oversight, not market surveillance.
