The situation in this country
Estonia has not yet completed the formal designation of its market surveillance authority. TTJA states on its own website that it will in future act as the competent authority for AI systems, including supervision of prohibited practices and transparency obligations. The Data Protection Inspectorate, the Gender Equality and Equal Treatment Commissioner and TTJA are listed as fundamental rights authorities with access rights under Article 77. No national implementing or penalties act has been adopted; the status of the legislative process could not be reliably verified.

Ministry of Justice and Digital Affairs explains Article 50 transparency obligations
Immediately after 2 August 2026 the Estonian Ministry of Justice and Digital Affairs published official guidance on the new transparency obligations for AI-generated content and deepfakes, including potential fines of up to EUR 15 million or 3 percent of global annual turnover. The communication does not yet name a national supervisory authority.
