The situation in this country
Slovakia has not yet adopted its implementing act and has no operational AI supervisor. In early August 2025 the digital ministry MIRRI presented the draft AI act and submitted it to the inter-ministerial comment procedure; a formal consultation round followed in early 2026, drawing hundreds of comments. The draft creates a new Office for Digital Integrity as general market surveillance authority and single point of contact, with sectoral roles for among others the data protection authority. The intended entry into force around August 2026 was not met; the process was still ongoing in mid-2026.

MIRRI opens consultation on draft AI law
MIRRI presented the draft law on artificial intelligence and the draft data governance law and launched the inter-ministerial comment procedure. The AI law is to establish Slovakia's institutional oversight framework for the AI Act.
