The situation in this country
Slovenia was among the first member states with an adopted implementing act. The ZIUDHPUI, adopted by parliament on 23 October 2025 and published in the Official Gazette (Uradni list No. 85/2025) on 6 November 2025, has applied since 21 November 2025. AKOS is the single point of contact and regulatory sandbox coordinator and one of five market surveillance authorities, alongside the Information Commissioner, the Bank of Slovenia, the insurance supervisor and the market inspectorate. The act sets out competent authorities, procedures, infringements and fines. Several notifying authorities are designated depending on the AI system type.

Implementing act ZIUDHPUI published in the Official Gazette
The Act on the Implementation of the Regulation laying down harmonised rules on artificial intelligence (ZIUDHPUI) was adopted on 23 October 2025 and published on 6 November 2025 in Uradni list No. 85/2025. It determines the competent authorities, procedures, infringements and fines and has applied since 21 November 2025.

AKOS designated as contact point, five market surveillance authorities appointed
Under the ZIUDHPUI, AKOS is the single point of contact and coordinator of regulatory sandboxes. Market surveillance is shared by five authorities: AKOS, the Information Commissioner, the Bank of Slovenia, the insurance supervision agency and the market inspectorate TIRS.
