An AI agent that makes bookings, handles correspondence or concludes contracts must identify itself as AI and state on whose behalf it is acting, including towards the person instructing it.

An AI agent that makes bookings, handles correspondence or concludes contracts must identify itself as AI and state on whose behalf it is acting, including towards the person instructing it.

The legal path

Source ·: Article 50 on EUR-Lex
Condition ·: Applies as soon as the agent is capable of interacting with the person instructing it or with other natural persons in the execution of the task.
Exception ·: Purely machine-to-machine communication between agents whose outputs are not intended to reach a natural person falls outside the disclosure duty of Article 50(1), and intermediate reasoning steps and non-perceptible actions fall outside the marking duty of Article 50(2).
